At Gamescom 2025, we met with Outright Games to go hands-on with their upcoming slate, a mix of beloved kids’ brands, festive adventures, and even a slam-dunk arcade sports title.
Here’s what we played, what stood out, and why these games are set to light up living rooms later this year.
🎉 DreamWorks Gabby’s Dollhouse: Ready to Party
Release Date: September 19, 2025Platforms: Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam & Microsoft Store) Price: £34.99 / €39.99 / $39.99
Stepping into Gabby’s Dollhouse felt like walking into a living episode of the Netflix series. The “catavator” whisked us between themed rooms, each brimming with interactive mini-games over 40 in total from frosting cupcakes with Cakey to planting magical blooms with Kitty Fairy.
The drop-in/drop-out local co-op was a highlight, letting a second player join instantly without breaking the flow. The controls are simple, but the variety of activities crafting, decorating, rhythm challenges, and light puzzle-solving kept the pace lively.
The art style is vibrant and faithful to the show, with subtle animations that make the dollhouse feel alive: curtains swaying, pets reacting to your presence, and sparkles when you complete a task. For younger players, it’s intuitive and rewarding; for parents, it’s a chance to share in the fun without feeling like a passive observer.
🚗 PAW Patrol Rescue Wheels: Championship
Release Date: October 31, 2025 Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC Price: £34.99 / €39.99 / $39.99
This is PAW Patrol reimagined as a kart racer and it works. We raced through Adventure Bay, the Jungle, and Foggy Bottom, each track packed with shortcuts, ramps, and hazards. Every pup has a signature ability like Skye’s aerial boost to glide over obstacles or Marshall’s water cannon to slow rivals that can turn the tide mid-race.
The handling is forgiving for younger players, but mastering drifts and timing power-ups adds a layer of skill. The split-screen multiplayer we tried was pure chaos: pups launching abilities in quick succession, last-second overtakes, and plenty of giggles from the crowd watching.
Themed hazards like Mayor Humdinger’s runaway balloons or slippery ice patches keep each race unpredictable. Outright Games has clearly studied what makes kart racers addictive and wrapped it in a brand kids already adore.
🎄 The Grinch: Christmas Adventures | Merry & Mischievous Edition
Release Date: October 3, 2025 Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC Price: £34.99 / €39.99 / $39.99
The expanded Merry & Mischievous Edition adds new areas, gadgets, and seasonal activities to the original. We snowboarded down icy slopes dodging candy cane gates, piloted a sleigh over Who-ville rooftops, and even parachuted into the Grinch Caves to uncover hidden presents.
The game’s dual-path design spreading cheer or causing mischief gives it replay value, with different cutscenes, dialogue, and even environmental changes depending on your choices. The Seussian art style is spot-on, with exaggerated curves, bold colours, and whimsical animations that make every scene feel like a page from the book.
Max the dog is more than just a sidekick now he can sniff out secrets, fetch items, and even distract Whos while you sneak past. It’s a festive platformer that works year-round, but will shine brightest during the holiday season.
🐴 Barbie: Horse Trails
Release Date: October 10, 2025 Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC Price: £34.99 / €39.99 / $39.99
Barbie: Horse Trails is a gentle, open-world adventure set in Canterbury Trails Park. Playing as Malibu or Brooklyn Barbie, we explored meadows, forests, and lakeshores with our horse, Lucky.
The pace is relaxed you can gallop between objectives or simply wander, taking photos of wildlife, collecting flowers, and completing Junior Ranger missions to restore the park. Grooming and accessorising Lucky adds a personal touch, with tack, manes, and saddle blankets to customise.
The day-night cycle and dynamic weather make the park feel alive we rode under golden sunsets, through light rain, and into starlit clearings. It’s a wholesome, low-pressure game that encourages exploration over competition, perfect for players who want a calming escape.
🏀 NBA Bounce
Release Date: September 26, 2025 Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC Price: £44.99 / €49.99 / $49.99
Outright Games’ first NBA-licensed title is not a sim it’s an arcade-style basketball party game that swaps realism for fun. We hit the court with official NBA teams, complete with mascots like Benny the Bull and Bango the Buck as playable characters.
The demo let us try Quick Match, Party Mode, and a few of the 32 Challenges. The controls are pick-up-and-play, with exaggerated dunks, oversized heads, and cartoonish animations that make every match a spectacle. Courts are themed to each team, with roaring crowds, confetti bursts, and mascot antics adding to the energy.
Progression is light but satisfying winning games unlocks new jerseys, sneakers, and even more mascots. Four-player local multiplayer was the star of the show, with constant reversals, buzzer-beater shots, and plenty of friendly trash talk. Think NBA Jam energy with a modern, kid-friendly twist.

Final Thoughts from the Show Floor
Outright Games’ Gamescom line-up proves they’ve mastered the art of accessible, brand-driven fun. Each title offers a different flavour from Gabby’s creativity to PAW Patrol’s racing thrills, The Grinch’s festive antics, Barbie’s tranquil exploration, and NBA Bounce’s arcade sports energy.
For families, these are safe, engaging picks. For us on the show floor, they were a reminder that joy, colour, and co-op chaos still have a strong place in gaming — and Outright Games is making sure that place is front and centre.
